Content
You can now choose between Easy, Normal, and Hard difficulty levels in the Play settings. Hard mode is designed for skilled players who want a tougher and more exciting combat experience.
We’re adding a new feature called boss rematches, so you can fight your favorite bosses again if you’re looking for a challenge.
Easy
Reduced damage taken by the player.
Reduced maximum health, aggressiveness, and overall speed of opponents.
Extended timing windows for Parry and Dodge.
Reduced the frequency of bosses attempting to counterattack or escape when hit.
Normal
This is the difficulty you have been playing so far.
Hard
You won’t feel the effects of food right away. They’ll only kick in after you’ve finished eating it, once the eating animation is done.
Increased damage taken by the player.
Increased maximum health, aggressiveness, and overall speed of opponents.
Reduced timing window for Parry and Dodge.
Reduced the invincibility duration for Roll.
Increased the frequency of bosses attempting to counterattack or escape when hit.
Added additional combat patterns for certain bosses.
Added the Sturdy Gatherables Chest which can be set up with the housing system.
The Sturdy Gatherables Chest has 1,000 slots and can be purchased from furniture shops.
You can use items stored in the Sturdy Gatherables Chest for crafting and refinement, even if you don’t have them in your inventory.
Added the Kuku Cooler and Enhanced Kuku Cooler items which can be placed with the housing system.
You can get the Kuku Cooler by completing a quest, but you’ll need to make the Enhanced Kuku Cooler yourself. Both coolers are useful for storing food and cooking ingredients.
Kuku Cooler: 40 slots
Enhanced Kuku Cooler: 330 slots.
You can use ingredients from either cooler for cooking, even if you haven’t physically picked them up yet.
Added the Collectibles Chest which can be placed through housing mode.
The Collectibles Chest can be used to store various quest items and crafting recipes.
The Collectibles Chest has 1,000 slots and can be obtained through a quest.
Added an outfit storage feature to the Wardrobe, which can be placed through housing mode.
The Wardrobe can be purchased from furniture shops.
Okay, so each Wardrobe I put down gives me 100 spaces to store stuff. And the more Wardrobes I build, the more storage I get overall – it basically scales up with how many I have!
The maximum outfit storage capacity is 1,000 slots.
Added the Select House option where you can change the layout of your house.
Selectable house types unlock based on the Greymane Camp expansion level.

Improved housing mode-related UI and controls.
We’ve added a feature that lets you quickly grab all the furniture you’ve placed in your home.
As a big fan, I’m really excited about the updates to Greymane Camp! They’ve made some changes, and to keep things a surprise for those who haven’t explored yet, you can find the details in the dropdown menu below. I can’t wait to see what they’ve done!
We’ve updated the observation feature to allow you to earn Abyss artifacts even when watching a skill you’ve already learned using those artifacts.
Improved the following items, which were previously unstackable, to now stack in the inventory:
Regular Abyss gears, insects, fish, and animals
Added birds as pets. You can encounter these new companions throughout Pywel.
Added the Sotdae of Bond item which allows you to gain Trust with birds.
Attract birds to the Bond Sotdae by placing different kinds of food they enjoy, which will increase your Trust level with them.
The Sotdae of Bond can be obtained through a quest.
Added 5 new types of cat pets.
Improved the Abyss Heuklang so that it can become your pet.
Added a function to change the names of horses and pets.
We fixed a bug that caused cats to stay on players’ shoulders forever, which wasn’t how it was meant to work. But since a lot of players enjoyed having their cats stay up there, we’ve added an item that lets them do so for a longer time.
Added an accessory slot for pets, which will allow pets to now take on a wider variety of roles.
Sigil of Bonding: Equipping this item on a pet cat ensures it to stay longer on your shoulder.
Damiane has introduced the Sword of Starlight, a new weapon usable with one hand. Players can earn it by completing a quest.
[Kliff/Oongka] Added two new one-handed weapons, Tree Branch and Sturdy Tree Branch.
These items can be obtained by cutting down trees and bamboo trees.
Added a new tool, Sturdy Broom.
[Kliff] Added the new Baltheon armor outfit.
We’ve renamed the ‘Rekhia Plate Helm’ to ‘Baltheon Plate Helm’ and updated it so that Kliff can now wear it.
Added a secret shop in Pororin where pet equipment can be purchased.
Added additional outfits to certain shops, including the Back Alley Shop.
Improved the Kuku Flame-Resistant Armor and the Kuku Ice-Resistant Armor so that they can be dyed.
Added various ores and wells across Pywel.
We’ve lowered the attack and defense boosts you get from reinforcing your gear with grindstones and anvils.
Fixed an issue where the cloudcart could not be called.
Improved the cloudcart so that it can be used as a permanent mount.
Changed the cloudcart crafting mission so that it can only be completed once.
We’ve lowered the prices of items sold by Greymane NPCs, giving players a 10% discount when they buy from them.
Added livestock vendors across Pywel.
Livestock such as cows, pigs, goats, sheep, ducks, and chickens can be purchased from these NPCs.
Added 13 new tattoos for characters.
Added a «Lock» function that prevents selling or discarding of the selected item.
Improved gathering and mining so that the quantity of items obtained is applied consistently.
Improved resting in bed so that the player’s character gets up immediately afterward.
Improved NPCs to show a wider variety of reactions to their surroundings.
We’ve updated some of the game’s 2D graphics to give it a more polished and consistent look.
The Mission Dispatch menu now has separate buttons for starting a mission once and repeating a mission. This makes it clearer how you want to proceed. (Added April 23, 2026)
Controls
Added a preset feature for both keyboard/mouse and controllers.
The original controls are available via the «Classic Preset».
More detailed controller customization will be added soon.
We’ve added a new feature that makes actions happen instantly when you press the associated key.
You can customize keyboard and mouse settings in Settings > Input > Keyboard/Mouse Customization. This works best when the on-screen controls don’t cover the default keys. If they do overlap, the affected area will be shown in yellow.
As a player, I’m excited to share that you can tweak your controller experience right in the settings! Just head to Settings > Input > Controller Customization to get started. It’s all set up with default options, so you can jump in and personalize things easily.
Added the «Evasion Control» and «Switch Roll and Evasion Input» options.
Okay, so this setting lets me pick how I activate something. I can either double-click or press the button quickly like I used to, or I can switch to holding the button down instead. It’s nice to have a choice!
Enabling the «Switch Roll and Evasion Input» option switches the controls for Roll and Evasion.
Improved the controls for aiming
Added a function that allows you to turn your lantern on and off while aiming.
We’ve made it easier to aim: now, even if you have a weapon out, pressing the aim button near something you can interact with will prioritize aiming instead of going into a defensive stance.
Added the «Using Skill: Element» option.
Choosing the «Quick Slot Option» lets you use the specific elements you’ve chosen for each input field.
Changed the controls for Vault.
Vault can now only be used by pressing Jump while performing a different attack.
Changed all interactions so that they are executed continuously while the button is held down.
[Keyboard/Mouse & Controller] «Dismount/Drop» and «Cancel» keys/buttons have been combined.
[Keyboard/Mouse] Expanded the range of customizable key bindings.
[Keyboard/Mouse] Changed the Escape key used while under status effects to match the Evade key.
Players can now open the map by holding down the DualSense touchpad on PlayStation or the View button on Xbox controllers.
Combat/Action
Adjusted the overall balance of bosses.
Bosses can now be damaged by players even while using their strongest attacks. We removed their immunity during these moments.
Adjusted the frequency at which bosses counterattack or escape while being hit consecutively.
Adjusted the attack pattern of certain bosses.
Increased damage taken from elemental status ailments.
Slightly reduced the damage dealt when hitting enemies with pillars or trees.
Added new charging stages for Force Palm Pulse.
The skill can be charged up to 3 stages, with damage increasing progressively.
Improved the overall speed of «Examine» when examining items.
Improved the speed of pushing or rotating objects during puzzles.
Improved follow-up attacks so they connect more quickly even when the initial attack is blocked.
Changed Blinding Flash so that it can also be used in areas where weapons cannot be drawn.
Changed Blinding Flash so that it is used toward the target currently being faced during combat.
Improved attack chaining after using Dodge during unarmed combat.
[Kliff] Added the skill Weapon Throw, usable while dual wielding.
This ability can be used with the same controls as Shield Bash.
Weapons can be retrieved by pressing the same controls or by approaching it.
[Kliff] Improved the attack speed of Force Palm.
Kliff has resolved a bug where performing a parry after blocking didn’t work correctly if you weren’t using a sword as your main weapon.
[Kliff] Fixed an issue where Charge could not be used with certain weapons.
[Kliff] Improved Force Current so that Kliff no longer falls from ledges when using it.
[Damiane/Oongka] Added the skill Ambush.
[Damiane/Oongka] Added a skill that has the same effect as Kliff’s Focused Force Palm.
[Oongka] Fixed an issue where Oongka could not move horizontally during Vertical Flight.
[Oongka] Improved Oongka’s blaster so that it can be fired during Flight.
[Oongka] Fixed an issue where Scatter Shot could be used even without bullets during Back Hang.
Improved «Examine» so that it can be used in your inventory while mounted on a horse.
We’ve made it easier to spot ores with the Miner’s Lantern Hat by increasing its brightness and how far it can detect them.
It can now identify stone as well.
Changed the healing effects displayed on targets affected by Healing Force Palm.
We fixed a bug that caused the ‘Lift’ ability to stop working if the person you were lifting fell into water.
We fixed a bug that caused your stamina to recharge unintentionally when you quickly switched between using and putting away weapons while running.
We’ve resolved a problem that prevented players from sprinting, swimming, or performing certain actions while riding a Marni’s Mechahorse.
We resolved a problem that caused the player character to become stuck when using some mechanical devices.
Improved spears and longswords so that their attacks flow more naturally during combat.
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know they’ve made it easier to get the Quick Reload skill! Before, you could only learn it by carefully watching NPCs, but now you can also snag it using Abyss Artifacts. It’s a nice change, and I’m glad they added another way to get it – makes things a little less grindy. This update dropped on April 23rd, 2026.
UI Fixes & Improvements
Improved the inventory so that items can be viewed through category tabs.
There are 6 categories: All, Documents, Equipment, Food, Materials, and Others.
Inventory category sort preferences are saved automatically and will persist even if you restart the game.
The same category tabs will also be added to the private storage in the near future.
We’ve updated the inventory screen so that when items are grouped together, a single icon will display a picture representing the entire group.
The feature may be turned on or off in Settings > Play > Show Group Icon in Inventory.
Separated the input options for «Ungroup» and «Ungroup All Items».
Added «Filters/Search» function to the map.
Improved the map and minimap so that icons are displayed for obtained Memory Fragments.
After Memory Fragments are obtained, lanterns will no longer display a detection signal.
Added a feature that allows players to choose the shape and color of map markers.
We updated the map to show whether items are in stock at shops you’ve fully trusted.
Improved the map and minimap to display well icons.
Improved the minimap to display north, south, east, west.
[Kliff/Damiane/Oongka] Adjusted the layout of the Skills menu.
We’ve updated the Faction Quests and Challenges screen to clearly display how many quests and challenges you can currently take on.
Improved the Journal so that reward item information can be viewed.
Added a UI display to shops that show how many of an item the player owns.
Improved shops’ buy menu to display the conditions required for purchasing deactivated items.
Graphics & Settings
We’ve made distant objects and textures look sharper and more detailed. The better your graphics settings, the more noticeable the improvement will be.
We resolved a problem where objects in the background were visible even when they shouldn’t have been, regardless of how far away the player was.
Improved the visual quality of characters at long distances.
Improved hair lighting in shaded areas.
Improved errors and flickering related to displacement mapping.
Added a «Max» size for the subtitle font size setting.
Improved to maintain the camera’s distance to the character when adjusting the visual range.
Added a «Colorblind Mode» option in Settings > Accessibility.
Added a «Chromatic Aberration» option in Settings > Accessibility.
Added a «Photosensitive Mode» option in Settings > Accessibility.
[PC] Improved the quality of «AMD FSR Ray Regeneration».
[PC] Improved the quality of «Intel XeSS 3.0» upscaling and «Intel XeSS Frame Generation».
We fixed a problem that prevented certain actions – like using Nature’s Snare or reeling in a fishing line – from working correctly with an Xbox controller when Steam Input was turned on.
[Mac] Reduced stuttering during gameplay.
A new option called ‘MetalFX Denoising Upscaler’ has been added to the Video settings. This feature is available on macOS Tahoe and later.
We fixed a problem that caused stuttering or delays when switching between displays in the Video settings.
On Macs, we’ve resolved a problem that caused the game to sometimes start at the wrong screen resolution with specific monitors.
Mac now offers better HDR visuals and automatically turns on HDR for compatible displays using the «For This Mac» setting.
On Macs, we resolved a problem that caused the screen to become very dim after turning off HDR when it had previously been turned on.
Stability, Gameplay
Changed the Load menu to display a notice in a slot if the save data is corrupted or invalid.
We fixed a crash that could happen when HDR was turned on with a monitor that doesn’t support it.
Fixed several stability and crash issues across PC, console, and Mac.
Localization
Fixed various localization errors and improved localization quality across all languages.
Others
Tumbleweeds have been added to desert regions.
We resolved a bug that caused the «Display Weapons» setting to not work as expected during some cutscenes and while playing the game.
We fixed a bug that caused the wrong location to appear on the map after a bounty quest failed.
We’ve adjusted the bounty system. If your current bounty is too high to complete a turn-in, bringing a bounty target to the Constabulary will now result in your arrest, rather than triggering the usual handover scene.
Improved comrades’ behavior so they do not attack bounty targets.
We fixed a bug where the game wouldn’t always start tracking your next quest after you finished one. This would happen with certain quests.
Improved the Journal to indicate whether a quest target has been dispatched on a mission.
Improved the progress display for cumulative quests such as «To the Rescue».
Fixed an issue where the game would occasionally close when retrying bosses as Damiane or Oongka.
We fixed a bug where the character selection menu would unexpectedly appear after finishing a level that already switched your character automatically.
We fixed a bug that could make Blackstar invincible or unable to move after teleporting with it from the map. This happened when teleporting while mounted on Blackstar.
Fixed an issue where Blackstar would not move when summoned from a distance.
We fixed a bug that caused an item to appear incorrectly while viewing a Memory Fragment with the lantern.
We fixed a bug in the Prologue where enemies would stop noticing you after you slept in a bed.
We fixed a bug that caused an endless loading screen when a player was detected cheating during a Duo match while playing as Oongka.
Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know I squashed a bug where NPCs would sometimes drop an item, then just… stand there, unable to pick it back up if I bumped into them. It’s fixed now, so they should grab their stuff even if I accidentally get in the way!
Fixed an issue where some outfits looked unnatural depending on the player’s movements.
Improved the display of the horse cargo so it no longer overlaps with shields.
Fixed an issue where audio did not play properly in certain situations.
Fixed an issue where a certain Pailune merchant NPC would not appear in some save files.
Fixed an issue where the mission would fail if a bounty target was killed after being captured.
We’ve fixed a problem that prevented your Trust level from increasing when giving a gift to the leader of the Beggars’ Alliance.
Fixed an issue where the effects of the items Golden Beer and Sage’s Eye did not apply properly.
We fixed a bug that prevented players from gaining important information after speaking with the Pailune Militiamen.
We’ve resolved a problem that prevented players from learning the knowledge for Tristan, the Flame Knight, Marni’s Machina Knight, and the Dreadnought.
Fixed an issue where Greater Abyss Gear could not be sold.
We’ve standardized how upgrade materials, crafting components, and reinforcement levels work, ensuring they align with the type of equipment being used.
