Major Additions and Changes

Monsters

  • – Arch-tempered Arkveld has been added as a permanent Event Quest.

  • We’ve added new, challenging 10-star difficulty quests for Arch-tempered Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad. These quests are now available as permanent events.

Player

  • – New equipment and pendants have been added.

Story Progression

  • A new side mission, «A Royal Request,» is now available in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection as part of a special collaboration. You can start this mission after reaching Hunter Rank 9 or higher.

  • We’ve added a new side quest called «Love for a Hero.» You can start it after you finish the «Ghosts Pay No Heed to Tomorrow» quest and have a conversation with Nadia and Mina.

Bases and Facilities

  • – Added a new feature to the Melding Pot that allows you to meld Gogma materials.

  • After you reach HR 9, you can now get random ingredients at the Ingredient Center thanks to a new feature!

  • We’ve added new items called «Timeworn Charms» to the rewards you get from completing quests. These don’t change the stats of Talismans you’ve already earned, but using Timeworn Charms will give you a better chance of finding rarer Talismans.

  • We’ve increased the number of Pop-Up Camps available in the Windward Plains, Scarlet Forest, and Oilwell Basin. You can unlock this by speaking with the Pop-up Camp Meowster or visiting the Support Desk after finishing the «Germination» assignment.

  • We’ve added a «Retry» button to the Barrel Bowling results screen so you can quickly play again. You can now also redeem 10 Barrel Bowling Vouchers at once to claim all your rewards immediately.

  • We’ve tweaked how Blossom Barrel Bombs work in Barrel Bowling to make them distinct from the standard Large Barrel Bombs used elsewhere. Along with this change, we’ve also introduced new ways these Blossom Barrel Bombs are placed.

  • We’ve shortened the wait time in Barrel Bowling, allowing players to throw their next barrel while still seeing the results of their previous throw.

System

  • We’ve improved performance by reducing the strain on your computer’s processor and graphics card. This includes making 3D models simpler when they’re far away, optimizing how monsters appear in the game, and reusing effects instead of creating them from scratch. We’ve also streamlined the rendering process and made various smaller tweaks to further improve performance.

  • Nine challenging quests, previously only available during events, are now permanently playable! These include: The White Wonder, Ultimate Berserker, The Monkey King, Sovereign Brute, and There Goes the Neighborhood.

  • We’ve added a new quest that takes place in a special environment. You’ll be able to start it after finishing the three other special environment quests and completing the 10-star Arch-tempered Arkveld event quest.

  • Now, when you select «Quest Last Played» at the Quest Counter, the game will remember where you last started the quest and begin there. If that location isn’t available, you’ll start back at the base camp, as before.

  • We’ve updated how event quests are displayed to clearly show when you’re playing offline while accepting or joining one.

  • – Added a Refresh button to the search results list for SOS Flare Quests.

  • – Added Thai as a text language. Text language can be changed in the title menu options.

  • We’ve added Latin American Spanish as a voice language option. You can change the voice language in the options menu on the title screen.

  • We’ve added a new «Favorited Items Safeguard» option to the Start Menu. When enabled, this prevents you from accidentally using your favorited items in certain facilities by locking the confirmation button. You can always switch back to the previous «Require Confirmation» setting in the same menu.

  • We’ve added a button on the Invitation List screen that lets you quickly review the details before saving a shared equipment setup.

  • Okay, so the blacksmith got a nice little quality-of-life update! Now there’s a button that lets me quickly switch back and forth between upgrading my gear from boxes and actually transcending it. It saves a lot of clicking, which is awesome when I’m trying to power up my character!

  • We improved the user interface when you get close to Werner or Gemma, the Hunting Assistants. Now it’s easier to see where they are and where their tools are located.

  • I’m so excited! They’ve finally made all nine of those previously online-only event quests playable offline, which is amazing! You can check the Event Quest schedule for when each one is available. This includes tough challenges like Heart of Judecca with Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad, and Specter of Their Sins featuring Gogmazios, and a bunch of other great quests!

  • All 29 event quests that previously offered limited-time equipment materials are now permanently available and can be played offline. Check the event quest schedule for specific details.

Miscellaneous

  • We’ve fixed an issue that caused the Handler to sometimes bump into the hunter during hunts or exploration. You can now also choose to completely hide the Handler from view during hunts if you prefer.

Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustments

Bases and Facilities

  • We fixed a bug that caused pins to not show up and scoring to be incorrect when a player threw a barrel immediately before starting a game of Barrel Bowling.

Monsters

  • We’ve resolved a problem that caused inconsistent results when Lagiacrus and Rathalos battled for territory, ensuring all players see the same outcome.

  • We fixed a bug that caused a weak point to show up at the wrong time during Rompopolo’s toxic gas attack.

  • We fixed a bug in the Gogmazios quest where dropped Compact Anti-Wyvern Guns weren’t always visible.

  • We’ve fixed a problem in the Jin Dahaad, Tempered Jin Dahaad, and Arch-tempered Jin Dahaad quests. Previously, the monster could sometimes move to the final area without the player, which would stop you from completing the quest. This is now resolved.

Player

  • General
    • We fixed a bug where system messages wouldn’t show up correctly when a skill’s effect ended because the player changed weapons.

    • We fixed a bug that allowed the player’s slinger to accidentally hit Fabius while Gogmazios was performing his special attack.

  • Sword & Shield
    • We fixed a bug where certain items would briefly vanish from the Radial Menu when using things like traps while your sword and shield were drawn.

  • Dual Blades
    • We fixed a bug where hitting with a special attack (Focus Strike) while airborne with Dual Blades against Gogmazios could cause unpredictable movement.

  • Bowguns
    • – Fixed an issue causing unintended elemental effects to be displayed on Artian weapons.

  • Skills
    • We fixed a bug where an incorrect icon showing increased elemental resistance would appear while the «Protective Veil I» skill was being used. This skill doesn’t actually increase elemental resistance, so the icon was misleading.

  • Support Hunters
    • We fixed a bug that allowed Support Hunters to use their Compact Anti-Wyvern Guns while riding Seikret, even when not facing Gogmazios.

    • – Fixed an issue where Support Hunters may stop to carve Gogmazios’s severed tail during the quest.

    • We fixed a bug where Fabius would stop protecting the player if the quest leader changed while fighting Gogmazios’s special attack.

    • We fixed a problem that caused Fabius’s guard to move incorrectly during Gogmazios’s special attack. It now stays pointed in the right direction.

    • Okay, so I noticed a bug where my Support Hunters were just standing out in the open when Jin Dahaad did that huge attack of his. It’s fixed now! They actually take cover, which is a huge relief – no more watching them get blasted!

    • We fixed a bug where Support Hunters were incorrectly targeting Omega Planetes instead of the Nerscylla when it was preparing its Delta Attack.

    • We fixed a bug where Support Hunters protected by a shield were still getting hurt by Omega Planetes’s Delta Attack.

    • We fixed a problem that prevented Support Hunters from entering or exiting the underwater battle area during the Lagiacrus hunt.

Miscellaneous

  • System
    • Okay, so I’ve noticed something cool while doing Field Surveys! If I really beat up a big monster – even if it’s not the one I’m supposed to be fighting for the quest – the game seems to be more forgiving about whether that monster will show up as a target later on. Basically, doing a lot of damage to it makes it more likely to be available in a future survey, even if it was previously too healthy to qualify. It’s like the game recognizes my effort and adjusts things accordingly!

    • We fixed a bug that caused unnecessary messages to appear in Special Environment Quests. These messages would show when a monster of the same type as the main quest monsters would leave the area, even though it wasn’t important to the quest.

    • We fixed a bug where the description for the Cosmetic DLC Pass wasn’t showing up properly in the Add-ons section of the Support Desk menu.

    • We fixed a problem that prevented players from changing the pattern thickness of the «Whitewing Caparison» decoration when customizing their gear.

    • We fixed an issue that caused weapons to perform incorrectly when certain unintended bonus combinations occurred while upgrading Artian or Gogma Artian Weapons.

    • PlayStation®5

      We’ve improved how quickly the program starts, especially for users who have many add-ons installed. It now loads much faster.

  • Locales
    • We fixed a bug where Pitfall or Shock Traps could sometimes vanish after being set in specific locations within the Windward Plains.

    • We fixed a rare bug in the Gogmazios quest where two cannons could sometimes appear instead of one.

  • Other
    • – Fixed an issue where some voice lines would not trigger properly.

    • – Fixed various text issues.

    • – Fixed other miscellaneous issues.
